Melody Nixon is New Zealand-born writer living in New York City. She writes lyric essays, cultural reportage, and reviews, and teaches creative writing for the New York Writers' Coalition. She has received support from the Ucross Foundation, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, The Ragdale Foundation, Art Farm Nebraska, and Columbia University's School of the Arts. Melody is a Founding Editor of Apogee, a literary journal dedicated to work by writers of color and work that explores issues of identity, race, and writing from the margins.
