BK Deep: Past Media Work
Radio Workshop
BMC partnered with Telem Center for the African Child, a New York-based organization providing cultural, educational and recreational programs for children of African descent, to run a week-long radio workshop around street harassment.
In doing anti-street harassment work in Central Brooklyn, we sometimes get feedback that criticism of street harassment is a “first-world luxury” of middle-class women. But how is street harassment here, processed by those of us who are from the developing world? Through interviewing members of Central Brooklyn’s African immigrant communities, we trained Teen Reporter’s to explore the complexities of street harassment across cultures.
Listen to what they found:

On The Block
On The Block is a video series profiling people in our community. As a Central Brooklyn based, community organizing group, BMC is committed to serving as a platform to amplify local voices.
Photo A Day
BMC believes everyday people are the true reporters of the community. In Summer 2012 we launched our Bed-Stuy Photo-A-Day challenge, and ask Central Brooklyn residents to snap a picture that represents the chosen theme of the day.
